Free Software Free Culture

Wow a new blog. :)
Since some time i am using Open Sim software and really enjoy it.
And beside some more "artistic" activities have also a region for free software and free culture on OSgrid (the development-grid for Opensim).

Hypergrid: 77.167.123.149:9000/Free_Software_Free_Culture/

The idea is to collect information about free culture with a special focus on where its interesting for opensim.
The freedom this is about are meant in the way as describet by the software Freedom Foundation and at FreeCulture.org.

  • The freedom to run the program, for any purpose (freedom 0).
  • The freedom to study how the program works, and change it to make it do what you wish (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
  • The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor (freedom 2).
  • The freedom to distribute copies of your modified versions to others (freedom 3). By doing this you can give the whole community a chance to benefit from your changes. Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
  • Creativity and innovation;
  • Communication and free expression;
  • Public access to knowledge;
  • And citizens' civil liberties.
The region is pretty new so still a bit empty, but you can already find some tutorials there and you can watch some videos.
